Today I learned that my assigned HR tech is not at work due to school closures resulting from earthquakes and hurricanes. Hopefully they’ll be fully staffed shortly so I can begin peppering him with all of the annoying questions new-hires have.
The current plan is that I will move to Falls Church in September and live there alone (except for maybe one cat) until the kids finish the first trimester of school. Then everyone comes and lives with me in Virginia until we either get to our first post, or until the kids get shipped off to school somewhere. Of course this comes with the implied caveat; that no plan is safe from the State Department.
